When booking online, start by scheduling a FREE 15-min discovery call to determine if pelvic floor therapy is right for you. Then, proceed to book your initial evaluation and follow-up sessions using the same link.

  • Both the initial evaluation and follow up treatment sessions are 60 minutes.

  • We do not contract with insurance companies. Upon request, we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance. A superbill is a receipt with diagnosis and treatment details. Reimbursement varies based on your out-of-network coverage. Contact your insurance company for specific details, as plans differ.

  • The traditional insurance model limits optimal treatment. Our out-of-network approach offers patient-centered, quality care. You get undivided therapist attention, no aides/assistants, and no surprise bills. Your therapist stays accessible between sessions, providing education and resources for confident condition management. This model leads to fewer visits, quicker outcomes, and reduced overall costs.

  • During your initial evaluation at Emily Stanley Wellness, we review your medical history and daily activities, address your questions, and collaboratively create a personalized treatment plan targeting your unique symptoms and goals. The evaluation includes a functional physical assessment of movement, strength, balance, posture, and breathing, offering valuable insights to guide our comprehensive approach to your well-being. If necessary, we can discuss the potential for an internal exam in a subsequent appointment based on your specific complaints.

  • For starters, NO. An internal examination is never a requirement. It is also never done during the initial evaluation. If, after discussion and evaluation, an internal assessment is appropriate, it is conducted only with your explicit consent. Before the exam, I guide you through each step using a pelvic model. Throughout the process, there is ongoing communication, and your continuous consent is essential. If, at any point, you wish to conclude the exam, you can simply say so, and it will stop immediately, ensuring a respectful and patient-centric approach to care.

  • Occupational therapists (OTs) and physical therapists (PTs) are both skilled in developing personalized programs to alleviate pelvic discomfort through training and strengthening. OTs bring unique value with expertise in addressing psychosocial aspects related to pelvic floor disorders, thanks to their background in mental health and trauma-informed care. Beyond the physical impact on daily activities, pelvic floor dysfunction also affects social engagement and emotional well-being. OTs, with their holistic approach, utilize therapeutic techniques that consider the individual as a whole, addressing not only the physical but also the psychosocial aspects.
