Hello, I'm Emily, the founder of Emily Stanley Wellness.
I hold a Master's in Occupational Therapy and an additional Master's in Integrative Medicine with a nutrition focus from George Washington University. I approach patient care holistically, taking into account the interconnected aspects of your physical and mental well-being. This includes considering the psychological, nervous, gastrointestinal, hormonal, and musculoskeletal systems, as well as understanding the broader context of your life.
With certification as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist and a background in weightlifting, I have a special interest in guiding women to discover methods for maintaining core and pelvic floor safety during exercise. Recognizing our unique differences from men, I emphasize that women can benefit from optimizing our training through a distinct approach. There's no need to fear or avoid exercise due to pelvic floor issues; instead, exercise should be empowering. Having experienced and overcome pelvic floor challenges after two children, I've learned that a mindful approach in the gym has not only resolved those issues but also helped me become stronger than ever.
